Political Action Committee (PAC)
The CACM Political Action Committee (PAC) allows CACM to impact the state legislative process by supporting political campaigns and legislation that might otherwise negatively affect the practices, services and careers of community managers in California.

What are the goals of the PAC?
The CACM PAC ensures that California's community managers and management companies can conduct business in an atmosphere that is not subject to undue regulation and intrusion by government.

Why invest in the CACM PAC fund?
CACM is able to represent your best interests in Sacramento with the aid of PAC fund dollars. The livelihood of the CID industry is contingent on our legislative successes.

Your colleagues share their thoughts on CACM's efforts in Sacramento, which are made possible through the PAC Fund:

"Sacramento is a numbers game being it dollars or bodies. Large numbers of individuals with a common voice will succeed where a single voice gets lost in the crowd. This is where CACM makes a tremendous difference speaking for a large group whose interest crosses party lines. ... With CACM's Legislative Committee and the efforts of [CACM lobbyist] Jennifer Wada and [CACM President & CEO] Karen Conlon, not much gets started in Sacramento that we 'don't see coming.'"

-Pete Smith

Rancho Santa Fe Assn.

"Without the dedication of CACM and its PAC Fund, much harmful and detrimental legislation would have been made into law. Community associations also derive the benefits of our reasonable approaches to legislation. We are all for consumer protection, but without the education and information that CACM and its lobbyists provide to the lawmakers, much law would be in effect that had good intentions to start with and ended up being a financial burden to the homeowner member."

-Lisa Esposito, CCAM

Massingham & Associates, ACMF

"Prior to CACM's legislative involvement, there was no one to represent our interests as community managers. In fact, prior to CACM's own legislative bill, there was no legal definition of a professional community manager at all. The legislature's understanding of the management industry, separate and apart from the homeowner associations that we represent, is due to the ongoing, professional education provided specifically for our elected representatives and their staff by CACM."
