Code of Ethics

In order to promote and enhance a high level of professional conduct among its membership, the California Association of Community Managers ("CACMsm") has adopted the following Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Practice. These guidelines have been adopted by the Board of Directors of CACM as the official rules of conduct which apply to all individual Managers whether or not they are also a Certified Community Association Manager ("CCAM®"), Non-member Certified Managers of CACM, and to any affiliated management firm recognized by CACM.

Membership Types

Manager Member

Manager membership in CACM provides a source for professional information and technical materials tailored to meet the exact needs and interests of the community association manager. CACM has designed a Professional Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as the official rules of conduct while performing services related to the practice of community association management. Membership also provides up-to-date technical advice and research in key management areas, access to entry level and advanced education designed to cover a wide range of management topics and issues.

Affiliate Member

Affiliate membership for vendors and industry professionals in CACM provides an avenue to compete successfully within the community association industry. Involvement in CACM can open doors of opportunity that businesses need in order to successfully compete and grow. Affiliates, as non-voting members, are an important aspect of CACM and provide much needed technical information to the community association manager.

Management Firm Council
(MFC) Membership

A membership category for
management firms within CACM

The Management Firm Council (MFC) acts as a resource and catalyst for management firms and to promote standardized operations, professional conduct and the achievement of the Certified Management Firm© designation.

The Management Firm Council also serves as host of the CEO Business Forum held in the Spring of each year. Members of the Management Firm Council will be offered a special seminar rate for this event.

The CEO Business Forum focuses on relevant company and business-related issues facing the management industry today with an emphasis on encouraging statewide synergy of management firms. Strength in unity creates a focused, well-communicated purpose

Please Note: Membership in the Management Firm Council does not eliminate the requirements for individual manager membership and/or certification.
