2011 CEO Business Forum
On May 5-6, 2011, more than 100 CEOs, senior executives and executive sponsors from throughout California gathered for the CEO Business Forum at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena.
Kicking off the event was Steve Farber, author of The Radical Leap: A Personal Lesson in Extreme Leadership. Farber talked about extreme leadership and the bold shift leaders must take to re-engage commitment and ignite passion in the people around them. His presentation demonstrated that leadership always requires unconventional thinking, but now, more than ever, it requires what he characterizes as Extreme Leadership. Through this intensive, interactive workshop, Farber utilized the four principles of Love, Energy, Audacity and Proof (or "LEAP") in capturing the mystery of extreme leadership for all attendees.
Dr. Esmael Adibi, lead economist of the Gary A. Anderson Center for Economic Research at Chapman University, presented the 2011 economic forecast during the second day of the forum. He also reviewed the 2010 forecast and how the Chapman model's prediction played out last year.
He went on to state that the forecast for 2011 indicates a slow rebound, particularly in residential construction in any sustained recovery from a post-war recession. "This is a fact that needs to be confronted: we are surely in for a long slog," stated the December 2010 Economic and Business Review. Dr. Adibi's manner of style and delivery is always a highlight of the CEO Business Forum and he did not disappoint the attendees.
At the close of the program, 40 attendees gathered for the Management Industry CEO Roundtable. The group discussed issues and trends facing the community management industry.
Here's what a few 2011 attendees liked best:
"I loved the networking. The speaker was great, the workshops were great, but the knowledge I gained from those around me was invaluable."
